NIAGARA FALLS ? A Niagara Falls man is being accused of impersonating a police officer in order to obtain a security camera surveillance video from a local restaurant.
The arrest was announced Friday.
On April 6, a man entered a restaurant located on Lundy?s Lane.
According to Niagara Regional Police, the man identified himself to the management of the establishment as a police detective and requested that they provide him with surveillance video from the restaurant?s security system.
The requested video related to an incident that had occurred at the restaurant several days before.
Police have not said what the incident was about or why the man wanted it.
Charged with one count of Personation of a Peace Officer is 42-year-old Kevin Randell Piche, of Dorchester Road.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
